Oracle Certificate Authority: Issuing User Certificates

In this section you will learn how easy it is for a user with a current valid certificate to get a certificate which can be used to log into your web applications.

There are three ways for a user to obtain a certificate.

Using your Oracle AS Single Sign-on Credentials

Using an existing certificate

Using Manual Approval/Authentication

In this lesson we will learn how to issue a certificate "Using an existing certificate"

This method of obtaining a user certificate requires you to already have a valid user certificate issued by the Oracle Certificate Authority. With a valid certificate already in hand you do not need to authenticate with user credentials to obtain a new certificate. Your old certificate will serve as your means of authenticating to OCA to get your new certificate.

Navigate to the following URL:

https://host.domain.com:4400/oca/user

You should see a page that looks like this.

Select the "User Certificates" tab. The next page should look like this.

Select "Use your existing certificate" and click the "Submit" button. On the page that follows, select your most current existing certificate, then click the "Get Certificate" button.

On the next page, select your "Encryption Key Size" and then click the "Submit" button.

On the next next page, click the "Import to Browser" button to retrieve your new certificate.

Watch a viewlet to see how its done.
