What
interfaces are available to the Oracle Spatial Geocoder?
There are SQL, Java and XML api's available.

How
can the Oracle Spatial Geocoder be deployed?
There are two Oracle Spatial Geocoder deployment
options.
- A middle tier J2EE based Oracle Spatial Geocoder
- A database Oracle Spatial Geocoder
Both can scale very easily by adding additional
hardware. However, the Oracle Spatial Geocoder scales better in
the J2EE version and can use Oracle Application Server load balancing
capabilities to deploy multiple Oracle Spatial Geocoder listeners
for optimum performance.

How
many addresses can be geocoded per hour?
60-100K per hour with a single node.

Is
the Oracle Spatial Geocoder interactive or does it support batch
processing?
Both interactive and batch processing modes are
supported.

What
countries are supported by the Oracle Spatial Geocoder?
In order to use the Oracle Spatial Geocoder the
user needs:
- The country specific data in the Oracle Spatial
Geocoder schema.
- The Oracle Spatial Geocoder parser profile
for that country.
The parser profile is used to put the address
in the country specific standard address format. The parser profile
can be customized for specific countries.
Currently Oracle Spatial 10g Release 2
ships parser profiles for North America and Western Europe. We are
working with the data providers to obtain additional parser profiles
and data in the Oracle Spatial Geocoder schema.
If you need support for a specific country please
use the Oracle Support channel for a feature enhancement request
or the OTN Spatial forum.

Does
the Oracle Spatial Geocoder have a console or are there any administrative
monitoring functions?
The J2EE version of Oracle Spatial Geocoder has
a web based administration console. No console is required for the
DB version.

How
accurate is the Oracle Spatial Geocoder?
Accuracy of any geocoder is dependent on the underlying
data. There are multiple options for the Oracle Spatial Geocoder
that you can control.
- Address match criteria, Match Mode, tells the
Oracle Spatial Geocoder how closely the attributes of an input
address must match the data being used for the geocoding.
- Match Code is a number indicating which input
address attributes matched the data used for geocoding.
- For an output geocoded address, the error message
contains a string that indicates which address attributes have
been matched against the data used for geocoding.
See the Oracle Spatial User's Guide, http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/spatial.html,
for all the Oracle Spatial Geocoder's options.

What
are the processing output fields and their definitions?

or Higher) User Guide.
