Oracle TimesTen Plug-In for Oracle Enterprise Manager

The Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database Plug-In is deployed as part of an Enterprise Manager Agent, running on the server on which the TimesTen database resides. The Oracle TimesTen Plugin provides the users the ability to monitor system information, TimesTen database configuration and performance statistics.  Configuration information and performance statistics are captured at user-defined intervals. The captured information are periodically uploaded and stored in the Oracle Enterprise Manager repository database. Users can monitor the information with the built-in screens, or generate reports using the flexible Enterprise Manager report wizard. Product Datasheet

The TimesTen plug-in captures TimesTen database configuration information and collects performance metrics for key areas including: checkpoints, connections, locks, memory, replication, transactions, and workloads. Information and performance data collected can be displayed in various formats such as:

  • Tables of name/value pairs for the database, instance and performance data.
  • Tables of name/value pairs for the performance rates (derived performance data).
  • Times series graphs for each of the performance data metrics.
  • Times series graphs for each of the performance rates metrics.
  • System supplied reports showing combinations of times series graphs for performance data and performance rates.
  • User-defined reports for TimesTen databases and operating system metrics

User defined thresholds for warning and critical events generate alerts and notifications, allowing you to manage by exception. Supported notification types include SMTP, SNMP and O/S commands.

The System Monitoring Plug-in for Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database provides administrators with a consolidated view of the entire enterprise, enabling them to monitor and manage all of their Oracle solftware components from a central place. Having such an integrated tool reduces the total cost of ownership by eliminating the need to manually compile critical information from several different tools, thus streamlining the correlation of availability and performance problems across the entire set of IT components.
