Oracle WebCenter Ensemble
Oracle WebCenter Ensemble is a practical mashup solution
for the enterprise. It enables the most valuable use cases: using portlets
developed on one platform in another, getting more content into existing
portals, applying generic features like analytics to any Web application.
Ensemble is a reverse proxy through which end users view Web applications.
For example, a customer might use Ensemble with their wiki, to control
access and collect analytics. They might also use Ensemble to inject
existing portlets or widgets into new Web applications. Ensemble allows
WebCenter Services, like discussions, to be used in WebCenter Interaction,
WebLogic Portal and other frameworks.
When injecting content into new applications, Ensemble users can choose
between JavaScript Injection, which is simple but requires changes
to the application source code, or Web Injection, which allows source code
to remain untouched. Web Injection can also be used to tweak styles, fix
JavaScript collisions, and more.
Ensemble's Lightweight Clipping feature allows elements of Web pages to be
isolated and used as widgets. Ensemble integrates with all of the major SSO providers. It also has
advanced tools for mapping credentials to existing Web applications, including a
password capture mechanism and an encrypted credential store.
Ensemble's REST API gives developers access to all known applications and
widgets in Ensemble. Ensemble installs in one-click for easy evaluation.
