Oracle Spatial Code Samples
Network Constraint Examples In PL/SQL (ZIP 6KB) and JAVA (ZIP 2KB)New

A collection of examples in PL/SQL and JAVA involving network constraints.

Using External Tables To Load SDO_GEOMETRY (SQL/TEXT 4KB)New

A SQL example using external tables to load data into SDO_GEOMETRY (Either 10gR1 or 10gR2)

GML Examples (ZIP 8KB)

These examples use the Oracle Spatial Java Class Library to read and write Geographic Markup Language (GML). The examples demonstrate how to open an Oracle database connection, read geometry information from a user-defined table (with at least one column of type SDO_GEOMETRY), print out well defined GML for the geometries returned in a SQL result set, and how to consume and transform a pre-defined GML document into an Oracle JGeometry type. The Oracle Spatial Java Class Library and associated GML examples can be used to read/write geometries from/to Oracle8i, Oracle9i and Oracle10g databases.

Oracle FAQ: NAVTEQ Digital Map Data for Oracle (PDF 68KB)New This FAQ addresses frequently asked questions relating to the content, availability, and usage of NAVTEQ boundary mapping data for use with Oracle products.

Buy NAVTEQ Data for Oracle Spatial and Locator

Combine NAVTEQ, the world-leader in premium quality digital map data, with Oracle Database 10g, the first relational database designed for Grid Computing, and your information is securely consolidated and always available!

NAVTEQ data is available for sale to users of Oracle10g Spatial and/or Locator by the County, State, US or European Country. Data is in the Oracle10g Spatial mapping, geocoding and routing schema and delivered in transportable tablespaces.

NDM Network Editor (ZIP 3.2MB)

The NDM Network Editor is a standalone Java client application that facilitates editing network data, enables browsing and navigating the network, and more importantly visualizes the result of network analyses for users. The README.txt file within the zipfile has instructions for installing and using this application. The sample data for Hillsbourgh County, NH, USA can be used with the NDM Network Editor. 9-Jan-2006

Note: This version of the NDM Network Editor is for use with Oracle 10g Spatial 10.2.0.1.0, 10.1.0.2, and 10.1.0.1.

Note: The NDM Network Editor is only intended to demonstrate Oracle Spatial NDM capability and is not supported by Oracle.

Oracle Spatial Network Data Model—Sample Data and Code for Hillsborough County, NH, USA (ZIP 585KB)

A zip file containing both Oracle Spatial Network Data Model (NDM) sample data and sample code. 20-Jul-2005

  • Data: Hillsborough County, NH, USA road network data converted from US Census Tiger Data
  • Code: Java code demonstrating various NDM features, specifically:
    • NetworkStateDemo.java: Shows how to turn on/off of network nodes and
links. This feature is particular useful for "what-if" analysis.
    • ProhibitedTurnDemo.java: Shows how to code NDM Network Constraints by
      constructing prohibited turns.

NAVTEQ Sample Data With release 10g, Oracle Spatial includes a geocoding engine. Sample data in the format supporting the 10g geocoding feature is now available from NAVTEQ. (San Francisco & Washington, DC datasets are available.) 15-Mar-2004

GeoRaster Sample Code Sample Code for Oracle Spatial GeoRaster 6-Mar-2008

Linear Referencing  Manage linear network measurement information essential to utility networks, internet street routing and transportation. Use SQL to create a table for a linear segment, insert definitions and metadata, define the segment and perform operations on it.

Use OCI to read & write geometry objects Use OCI to read and write geometry objects from and to Oracle Spatial.
