1. The admin page

We need to open the isearchadmin.html page from a web browser and fill the form with the following information:
  • Collection Name - A Collection is a set of web pages in a given website. You can think of a collection as the name of the website.
  • Root URL - The main page of your collection (website).
  • Restrict - This list contains the servers you want to fetch from.
  • Proxy - The name of your proxy server.
  • Display layout - The default display for the result list is: Title, summary, URL, Score, Size, and Last modified data from a given web page. The simple layout contains the Title, URL and score.
  • Hits per page - The number of hits per page to be displayed.

2. Crawl and Index

Click the button to start the process. First it will crawl the given collection, then it will insert all the data in the database, and finally it will create the text index. This process takes time and depends on the size of your website. Don't close the browser until the process is complete.
