Tutorial: IEEE datatypes - BINARY_DOUBLE and BINARY_FLOAT

This tutorial describes the new feature, support for IEEE datatypes BINARY_DOUBLE and BINARY_FLOAT, within the Oracle Database 10g by peering into the concepts, design, and implementation aspects that OTN developers applied to the Planet Distance Sample Application. OTN developers used the Oracle 10g Database Release 2 (or higher running SQL*Net TCP/IP listener) and the Oracle Database 10g JDBC Driver to build the application.

This tutorial assumes that you are familiar with the Planet Distance Sample Application, and that you have installed and configured the required software as described in the \doc\Install.html and \doc\Readme.html files that came along with the sample download.
