Installing Oracle Connector for Outlook
This section includes the following topics:
Preinstallation Requirements
Before installing Oracle Connector for Outlook, make sure that you have:

A supported Microsoft Outlook version installed on a supported platform
-
Administrative privileges for installing Oracle Connector for Outlook on Microsoft Windows 2000,
Microsoft Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows Vista
-
Microsoft Outlook 2000 installed in the Corporate or Workgroup (CWG) mode
To verify the Microsoft Outlook configuration, select Options, Mail Services, and Reconfigure Mail Support from the Tools menu.

Caution:
If you use offline folders, synchronize your offline folders before upgrading to avoid loss of information.

Installation/Configuration Instructions

Notes:

If you have upgraded your Microsoft Outlook installation, then you must reinstall Oracle Connector for Outlook.
-
An upgrade from 10.1.2.x will reset your Oracle Connector
for Outlook local storage and restore the default Send/Receive and View
settings. Back up any client-side e-mail rules or PDA data before
upgrading.

In Office Outlook 2007 manual profile configuration for server settings is
required when creating new OCFO profiles using the 'Control Panel >> Mail'
application and not the Oracle Connector Configuration Wizard.

To install Oracle Connector for Outlook:
-
Exit all Microsoft Windows applications.
-
Double-click con_outlook_1013_xx.exe to start the InstallShield Wizard.
-
Click Next on the Welcome screen of the InstallShield wizard.
-
Enter your name in the User Name field and your company name in the Organization field. Click Next.
-
Click Next to install in the default folder. To install Oracle Connector for Outlook in a different folder, click Change and navigate to that folder.

Select the languages you want to install. You can add more languages after the installation.
-
To review the information you entered in the previous screens, click Back. Otherwise, click Install.
-
Click Finish to start the Configuration wizard. If you intend to configure Oracle Connector for Outlook later, deselect Start Configuration, which is selected by default.
Limitations

Existing features missing for OCFO 10.1.3.0.11 in Outlook
2007
-
Ability to create meetings or events with web conference associate
with it (joining is still possible).

Ability to add personal annotations to a meeting or event details
as an attendee.

New Outlook 2007 features not supported in OCFO 10.1.3.0.11
-
Email time flags - the pre-determined reminder time flags could
not be saved on the 10g mail server.
