Notes: (1)  Linux versions: For Oracle certifications with Red Hat Linux Advanced Server 2.1 and SuSE SLES7, customers can take the latest patch-sets from Red Hat for Red Hat AS and from SuSE for SLES7 and they will be supported with Oracle. The key is that they take the latest from Red Hat and SuSE, and not try to put something together themselves with the latest kernel/glibc versions. As long as they get the patch sets from Red Hat or SuSE, they are supported by Oracle for Oracle products running with these operating systems. (2) Database Certification: Oracle9iAS Release 2 - v9.0.3 is certified with Oracle9iAS Infrastructure 9.0.2.0.1. It is certified to work with Oracle9iAS Metadata Repository (a Oracle9i Database (v9.0.1.4)). It is also certified to work with Oracle9i Database (v9.2.x) as a customer database. Oracle9iAS Release 2 - v9.0.3 is certified with Windows XP for both the server and client. DataDirect Connect JDBC Drivers (4) IA64 Linux Notes: The standalone OC4J release is packaged as oc4j_extended.zip. It contains JDK1.3 version of tools.jar in the directory <oc4j-home>/jdk/lib/tools.jar. This must be overwritten  by tools.jar of JDK1.4 available on Linux. Standard JDK1.4 package on Linux Itanium does not contain JDK extension libraries. It's recommended to use the JDK extension libraries supplied by Oracle available under <oc4j-home>/jdk/jre/lib/ext/, by copying these extensions to <JDK1.4>/jre/lib/ext/ directory. (5) Linux/390 Notes: Please note that before you start using J2EE 9.0.3 on Linux/390, please install JDK 1.3.1 version cx390131-20021102 and it can be downloaded from the IBM JDK for Linux download site(http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/linux140/) (6) AIX 5L Notes: IBM announced planned desupport of AIX 4.3. In order to provide a solution for Oracle Application Server customers running on IBM, Oracle ported the 9.0.1.X database to AIX 5L specifically for use by iAS 9.0.X. Therefore, Oracle only supports the 9.0.1.X database as an iAS infrastructure database and not as a standalone product. This is why CERTIFY does not reflect a 901 AIX 5L certification specifically. (7) Windows2003 JDK Notes: The JDK certified for Windows2003 is Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE) (J2SE Itanium v 1.4.2 Beta) Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition, v 1.4.2 Beta. Download site (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html). (8) JDK Certification: In general, Oracle9i Application Server Release 2 (9.0.2) and higher supports using JDK extensions higher than one the product originally shipped with. For example, on 9.0.2 and 9.0.3, it is possible to move from 1.3.1_06 to 1.3.1_07 or beyond. However, if you want to use different JDK versions (example: 1.3.x to 1.4.x) or JDK providers (example: Sun JDK 1.3.x to BEA JRockit) than what is shipped with the application server, please visit CERTIFY and check the JDK certification information to ensure Oracle supports this configuration. (9) Intel Pentium III XEON Processor Certification: Oracle Application Server is not certified for Windows Versions ( NT,XP, 2000, 2003) running on Intel Pentium III XEON Processor.
