Oracle ASMLib ASMLib is a support library for the Automatic Storage Management feature of Oracle Database 10g. Automatic Storage Management (ASM) simplifies database administration. It eliminates the need for the DBA to directly manage potentially thousands of Oracle database files, requiring only the management of groups of disks allocated to the Oracle Database. ASMLib allows an Oracle Database using ASM more efficient and capable access to the disk groups it is using.

IMPORTANT Patch Notice
	It is recommended that customers using 10.1.0.3 and this generic ASMLib for Linux download and apply the following patch from metalink to avoid some possible data corruption issues which might arise in extremely heavy workload environments. The patch number is 3800160 and it fixes a bug found on the Oracle database kernel side of the interface. The patch is currently available for Linux x86, Itanium, and AMD64/EM64T. The 10.1.0.4 and 10.2.0.1 releases do not have this problem. Customers using 10.1.0.2 are strongly encouraged to upgrade.
