Relational Migration Maps |
The Oracle Relational Migration Maps
(Migration Maps) are intended to provide an overview of the recommended
process for the migration of an existing third-party database to
Oracle. This process is used by the Oracle Technology Migration
Factory where skilled migration specialists use their knowledge and expertise to migrate customer database and application systems
to the Oracle environment.
Because the Migration Maps have been
written as a guide for Oracle Migration Engineers, you can assume
that all tasks are performed by Oracle unless stated otherwise.
However, we hope that you find these step-by-step instructions useful
for your migration projects whether you are a Partner or an ISV
who is peforming a migration for a customer, or whether you are
a customer performing your own migration.
For privacy reasons, it is not possible
to include links to all the templates and scripts that are used
internally within the Technology Migration Factory but we have explained
the function performed by these items in the Tools
and Documents page. You can find more information about the
people involved in a migration project from the Project
Roles page.
Note: Before using the Migration Maps, you must be familiar
with Oracle, Microsoft, and Sybase tools and technologies, including
the Oracle database, the Oracle Migration Workbench, and the Oracle
JDeveloper Application Migration Assistant. You must also be familiar
with the concept of a database and application migration.
