Vanguard is the parent company of National and Alamo Car Rental Companies.  Headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, National and Alamo make up the world's largest car rental concern with more than 3,200 locations in 83 countries. While acquiring other rental car companies and focusing on improving its financial performance, the modernization of its application portfolio was a critical element of the company’s success.  Vanguard was faced with changing customer expectations and the need to have multiple channels for accepting reservations.

Perot Systems incrementally designed, developed, and implemented a new application portfolio over multiple years to enable the improved business performance.  Perot Systems helped implement a new core reservation system, new web infrastructure, improved financial platform based on PeopleSoft, and a new reporting infrastructure using Hyperion.

The results of this implementation and modernization, Perot Systems developed a customized technology solution that helped Vanguard:

Financial Services Company
Perot Systems assisted a large U.S. financial services company consolidate and re-engineer their pension administration application suite.  Perot Systems customer was facing several business challenges such as:

Perot System helped architect, design and implement a new pension administration application suite that eliminated the need for multiple core administration platforms and also eliminated the need for many of the surround systems.  This new platform was developed using a Service Oriented Architecture and a well formed relational data model to support the overall pension business functionality.

Health Care Provider
A large healthcare provider was challenged with revenue loss due to incorrect submission of medicare claims and a lengthy outstanding accounts receivable.  These challenges were directly linked to problems in the existing software used to provide revenue cycle management services for this hospital chain.

Perot Systems evaluated alternative approaches and developed a plan to implement a customized solution that would integrate with their existing patient accounting systems and automate the workflow for submitting medicare claims.  The next generation platform significantly reduced the number of claims errors which lead to improved collections and reduced number of days outstanding A/R.
