System Requirements
1: What are the system requirements to run the Oracle DBA Toolbar?
The system requirements for running the Oracle DBA Toolbar are:
- For Internet Explorer: Microsoft Windows (98, ME, NT4 sp6, 2000 or XP), Internet Explorer version 5.0 or greater
- For Mozilla Firefox: Microsoft Windows (98, ME, NT4 sp6, 2000 or XP) or Linux, Mozilla Firefox version 1.5 or later
Installation
1: I'm using Internet Explorer and get an ActiveX error message when trying to install the Oracle DBA Toolbar. Why?
Your Internet security settings might be on High. This setting will prevent ActiveX controls from running. To install the Oracle DBA Toolbar, you must have ActiveX controls enabled.
To do this, follow these simple steps:
- From your browser, select Tools > Internet Options
- Click on the Security Tab
- Click on the Internet icon in the window
- Change security setting to Medium
- Click OK
- Or you may try to reinstall the Oracle DBA Toolbar.
2: The Oracle DBA Toolbar is installed, but it does not appear on the browser.
From your browser, click on "View > Toolbars" and select Oracle DBA Toolbar.
3: Why does the installation of the Oracle DBA Toolbar fail when using Windows NT or 2000?
If you're running on Windows NT or Windows 2000, confirm with your system administrator that you have the administrative privileges required to install applications.
4: How do I know a new version of the Oracle DBA Toolbar is available?
The Oracle DBA Toolbar has an auto-update system. Internet Explorer users are notified when an update is made to the toolbar's DLL. (To ensure a flawless update, a warning is issued if more than one instance of Internet Explorer is opened.) In Firefox, the "Extensions" (1.5) or "Add-ons" (2.0 or later) manager will indicate if an update is available.
5: I followed the instructions in this FAQ but my installation still fails. What can I do?

Using the Oracle DBA Toolbar
1: Is it possible to change the location of the Oracle DBA Toolbar in Internet Explorer?
From your browser, make sure that "Lock the toolbars" on "View > Toolbars" is not checked. Once done, you can move the Oracle DBA Toolbar by grabbing it with the mouse and moving it elsewhere.

1: Can the user hide and make the Oracle DBA Toolba rreappear?
To hide the Oracle DBA Toolbar:
- Click on the Oracle DBA Toolbar logo to access the drop down menu.
- Select the "Hide bar" menu item.
To make the Oracle DBA Toolbar re-appear:
- From your browser, click View > Toolbar.
- Select the Oracle DBA Toolbar from the list displayed.
