Oracle is pleased to announce that we have acquired the former TempoSoft Workforce Management Application and related intellectual property to strengthen our retail offering with workforce scheduling optimization. We would like to take this opportunity to outline our strategy behind the acquisition and the potential benefits to our customers.
This product will complement Oracle's workforce management offering by providing customers a complete suite to manage time and labor, absences, and now scheduling to meet a forecasted workload demand.
Oracle recognizes that one of the main challenges for retailers today is meeting the needs of local customers with tailored products and services to match store-level demand. A competitive advantage for many of the world's top retailers today is the ability to place the right associates with the right skills in the right stores at the right time to delight customers and drive sales, while optimizing staffing scheduling and operating costs. By leveraging insight into annual, seasonal, and daily demand patterns, store managers can reach these objectives and generate ROI in under a year using workforce scheduling applications.
Through a combination of advanced mathematics and business rules, Oracle's workforce scheduling platform will enable retailers to make intelligent staffing decisions that improve customer service, and improve employee satisfaction while meeting revenue and operational goals.
We worked with customers around the world to analyze their needs for a workforce scheduling solution. We believe TempoSoft's workforce scheduling is the best solution to meet our customers' needs, as the product has proven ROI in several large web-based scheduling deployments, deep domain experience with scheduling and optimization, and an architecture to support cross vertical solutions.
The initial release for Oracle's workforce scheduling product is targeted for calendar 2006 and will be aimed at the retail sector. Plans for subsequent releases in 2006 and beyond will include integration with Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise, E-Business Suite, and Oracle Retail applications, and will also extend functionality into other sectors such as retail branch banking, hospitality, call centers, healthcare, and others.
As we draw closer to the general availability of this product, stay tuned for further communications on how you can take advantage of this product to benefit your organization. For further information on the acquisition please visit www.oracle.com/temposoft.
Sincerely,
