Oracle Excellence DefinedStriving for success is what drives Oracle and its customers and partners to continually discover innovative uses for Oracle technology and to deploy successful and groundbreaking solutions and best practices. The Oracle Excellence Awards program recognizes customers and partners that have excelled in driving business value together with Oracle in 11 award categories. Nominations for CIO of the Year and Leadership categories open February 1, 2013, and close May 10, 2013. Nominations for all other categories open March 25, 2013, and close June 21, 2013. |
Award Categories
 | CIO of the YearThis award recognizes outstanding performance and vision in the role of chief information officer of an enterprise that uses Oracle products and services. In addition, winners have built a professional relationship with Oracle that fosters the two-way exchange of ideas between the winner's company and Oracle Corporation, which has provided insightful and honest feedback to Oracle about Oracle technologies, services, and procedures. |
 | Data Warehouse Leader of the YearData Warehouse Leader of the Year recognizes an individual who demonstrates excellent technical ability and superior knowledge of Oracle data warehouse technologies, and consistently applies best practices while demonstrating leadership. |
 | Database Administrator of the YearThe Database Administrator of the Year award recognizes individuals from around the world who demonstrate their technical ability and superior knowledge of Oracle Database and Oracle engineered systems within their organizations. |
 | Eco-Enterprise InnovationOracle Eco-Enterprise Innovation honors select customers and their partners for the customer's use of any Oracle product(s) to reduce their environmental footprint while reducing costs and improving business efficiencies using green business practices. Customers or their partners can submit a nomination. Winners are selected based on the extent of their environmental impact, as well as the business efficiencies they achieved through their use of Oracle products. |
 | Java Business InnovationThe Java Business Innovation award recognizes Java customers and partners who are using the Oracle Java Embedded platform to drive innovation within their business or product development. The award is open to Java customers and partners who have already launched a product based on Oracle Java Embedded or have one in the development phase. The recipient of this high-profile annual award will be selected based on the degree to which Java technology is used in new scenarios or pioneers Oracle Java Embedded usage in new markets or products. |
 | LeadershipOracle's Leadership awards recognize CFOs, CHROs, CMOs, and COOs worldwide who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and technology vision in the successful deployment of Oracle solutions to simplify IT, power innovation, and drive transformational change in their respective lines of business or organizations. These annual awards honor individual achievement in each of the following four categories: finance, human capital management, marketing, and supply chain management.

 | Oracle Fusion Middleware InnovationOracle Fusion Middleware Innovation honors Oracle customers for their cutting-edge solutions using Oracle Fusion Middleware. Winners are selected based on the uniqueness of their business case, business benefits, level of impact relative to the size of the organization, complexity and magnitude of implementation, and the originality of architecture. |
 | Proactive Support Champion—GlobalThe Oracle Proactive Support Executive and Individual Champion awards were introduced in 2011. These awards honor Oracle customers and partners for driving adoption of Oracle proactive support tools and best practices within their company. Winners are selected based on their use of these resources and how that use has benefited their company. |
 | Specialized Partner of the Year—GlobalSpecialized Partner of the Year recognizes global OPN Specialized partners excelling in six categories, including database, middleware, applications, industry, server and storage systems, and oracle-on-oracle. The nominees are judged by a renowned team of IDC executives and analysts. |
