The Bay Area

We're not joking when we say the Bay Area is a reason—on its own—to work at Oracle Headquarters. No matter where you decide to live, in or around the ever-popular city of San Francisco (cited as one of the healthiest and most energetic cities in the country), you'll be minutes away from many Bay Area points of interest.

Surf the ocean waves around Santa Cruz, Pacifica, and Mavericks, or simply enjoy a scenic drive down the Highway 1 coastline or up 101 North through Marin County. Hike and bike the East Bay and Peninsula trails and paths and nearby redwood forests. Ski and snowboard the mountains of Lake Tahoe. Discover Yosemite National Park. Over 1,200 square miles, Yosemite is one of the first wilderness parks in the US and is known for its waterfalls and giant sequoias. And if you're more into appreciating the fruit of the earth rather than camping it, why not realize the beauty of Napa and Sonoma Valley, home of some of the most internationally recognized US wineries.

Remember, only 25 minutes north of Oracle, San Francisco is considered to be the most walkable city around... so how about starting by exploring the various famous sites and sounds of SF neighborhoods, each with its own unique look and feel? And when you do, don't forget to walk around Union Square and Powell Street area for some of the best shopping on the West Coast—and to take a break at a theater such as the IMAX Metreon.
