A word from AT Internet

  • “Thanks to Oracle Exadata Database Machine, we are able to provide our clients with compartmental analyses of the large volumes of data related to their Web sites in just a few minutes. We have a responsive architecture that allows us to evolve rapidly to deal with massive growth in Web data.” – Sébastien Carriot, Technical Director, AT Internet

  • Gain a competitive edge for AT Internet, a rapidly growing company specializing in online intelligence services
  • Offer all clients—from e-commerce Web sites to media and mobile communications providers—the performance levels required to manage and analyze compartmentalized Web data in real time, for purposes such as audience measurement and assessment of purchasing flows
  • Support and manage its clients’ Web sites, which receive several billion page views per month

Solutions

  • Used Oracle Exadata Database Machine to create a data warehouse in one month to handle 3.5 terabytes of data linked to the “DataExplorer” compartmental analysis service that AT Internet delivers to its 400 clients as a software-as-a-service offering
  • Worked with Cheops Technology to quickly deploy the solution and develop the data warehouse
  • Responded on average 30 times faster on requests above one terabyte of data and up to 150 times faster to other types of requests
  • Reduced the gross volume of data to one-tenth of its previous size by using Oracle Exadata’s hybrid columnar compression mode, and slashed the cost of storing data by a factor of four, when compared to the previous data center architecture
  • Used Oracle Exadata Storage Servers to make significant gains in responsiveness and scalability, enabling the new system to manage twice the annual data volume as the legacy system
  • Produced compartmental analyses on huge volumes of data in just a few minutes, instead of several hours
  • Gained the ability to analyze data on visits to client Web sites over longer chronological ranges, analyzing several-month periods rather than just several-day periods, to provide clients with improved insight into Web site usage
