  • Oracle Customer:  Binggrae
    Location:  Seoul, Korea
    Industry:  Consumer Goods
    Employees:  1,538
Annual Revenue:  $500 Million to $1 Billion

Seoul-based Binggrae is one of South Korea’s leading food manufacturers. It produces dairy products, such as flavored milk, yogurt, and ice cream, as well as noodles, snacks, baked goods, and confections. The company is gearing up to enter the global market and is undertaking initiatives to maximize management transparency and gain the trust of shareholders, staff, and customers.

In 2010, Binggrae implemented Oracle Hyperion Planning and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition to build an integrated business performance management system. The system draws on data in the company’s Oracle enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform to enable in-depth reporting on the sales performance of its food products and divisions.
In addition, the Oracle solution enables executives to create detailed business plans that take into account the external market environment. The time needed to create these plans has also been cut from 14 days to 3 days. The ability to monitor business performance in real-time, coupled with fast and efficient business planning, has given Binggrae a distinct competitive advantage in the fast-moving consumer goods market.
Need for Real-time Performance Management

In 2000, Binggrae implemented an ERP system based on Oracle E-Business Suite. The system enabled the company to innovate food manufacturing processes, and provide branch offices, agencies, retailers, and wholesalers with accurate data about its dairy product range.

Need for Real-time Performance Management

A word from Binggrae

  • “Our business performance management system, based on Oracle Hyperion Planning and Oracle Business Intelligence, enables us to monitor the performance of different divisions and products in real-time. It has transformed our business into one that can respond to internal and external changes, so we can act quickly to take advantage of opportunities in the fast-moving consumer goods market.” – Chang-hoon Park, Vice President, Finance & Accounting Department, Binggrae

In 2000, Binggrae implemented an ERP system based on Oracle E-Business Suite. The system enabled the company to innovate food manufacturing processes, and provide branch offices, agencies, retailers, and wholesalers with accurate data about its dairy product range. The Oracle ERP platform is still in use 10 years later. In July 2010, Binggrae decided to make better use of the data produced by this system, by implementing a business performance management system that could be easily accessed by senior executives and frontline staff. The company had been using Oracle Financial Analyzer as an accounting management system but wanted to introduce new analysis functions that would help executives develop detailed sales and business plans, and track the performance of its divisions and products. It also wanted a user-friendly system that could be leveraged by senior executives and frontline sales staff.
