COMPAREX Austria, an Oracle Partner, decided to create a new consulting and services practice focused on conducting proofs of concept (PoC) for organizations evaluating new technology investments. It deployed Oracle Exadata Database Machine X2-2 as the foundation for its new PoC environment. Clients can now rapidly and securely launch PoCs using leading edge-technology on either Oracle Linux or Oracle Solaris 10 operating systems.

  • Created a new consulting practice that runs comprehensive PoC initiatives onsite or at a client’s data center 
  • Deployed Oracle Exadata Database Machine X2-2 Quarter Rack as the IT foundation for the company’s new PoC environment and provided clients with the flexibility to run their PoC on Oracle Linux or Oracle Solaris
  • Complied with Department of Defense requirements by ensuring that customer data is permanently deleted from Oracle Exadata Database Machine upon PoC completion
  • Ran the first PoC for a financial services organization whose systems were running at capacity and had to deliver 100% up time
  • Carried out different benchmarks at a customer’s data center using examples from the customer’s data warehouse and OLTP that mirrored production one-to-one, with a data volume of 1 TB each
  • Demonstrated for a large financial services institution that it could reduce the daily extract, transform, load process from approximately eight hours to two-and-a-half hours; cut monthly analysis compilation from 24 to 48 hours to only 12 to 24 hours; and complete installment calculations in just 5 minutes, down from 30 minutes
  • Shortened database-based OLTP application run-time for above mentioned customer by 50% to 70% over legacy environment
