Dell Computadores do Brasil Achieves Financial Close Cycle in Four Days Less Than Industry Average

Dell Computadores do Brasil, which began operations in that country in 1999, sells high-technology equipment directly to home users, companies of all sizes, and the Brazilian government. As a global company, Dell delivers IT solutions, including hardware, software, and services. It was founded by Michael Dell in 1984 and has grown to 105,000 employees worldwide with a US$61.5 million annual revenue. Dell chose Brazil as the location for its first Latin American factory and first software development center outside the United States.

To accelerate and standardize month-end accounting and better monitor cash flow, Dell Inc. implemented Oracle Hyperion Financial Management and the Oracle Hyperion Planning solutions in the United States. Its global subsidiaries are now adopting the applications through remote access. Dell Computadores do Brasil has already adopted the tools and realized benefits by automating the financial department’s daily tasks, which shortened the financial close cycle and produced more realistic technology sales forecasting targets.
