“We’re an Oracle shop. When a transaction occurs in our JD Edwards EnterpriseOne system, we get immediate information into the data warehouse. We don’t need to wait for a batch upload. Having that real-time information at our fingertips was a clincher for us. Our ERP system, data warehouse, and hardware are tied together to support our business goals. In addition, our relationship with Oracle Advanced Customer Support Services and Oracle Platinum Services frees up our resources so we can focus on optimizing business intelligence instead of on system maintenance,” said James Barlow, director global business intelligence, Elizabeth Arden, Inc.
Elizabeth Arden upgraded to Oracle Business Intelligence 11g and then installed Oracle Exadata Database Machine. The company built a new data warehouse on Oracle Exadata with Oracle Business Intelligence 11g as the front end and then merged user reports to the new system over a 10-month period. Elizabeth Arden moved all 600 users to the new data warehouse in one weekend.
