Mato Grosso State Data Processing Center Supports Statewide Planning, Increases Usability, and Raises Its Security Level to 95.2% with New Infrastructure

Operating for 34 years, Mato Grosso State Data Processing Center (also known as Centro de Processamento de Dados do Estado de Mato or CEPROMAT) provides a wide range of IT services—including internet access, server hosting, network projects and software development and customization—to 54 Mato Grosso state government agencies. With cutting-edge technology and specialized professionals, CEPROMAT is structured to develop and maintain any system with security, quality, and reliability.

The Mato Grosso state government and many of the state’s entities and citizens depend on CEPROMAT for the security and reliability of their IT systems, while CEPROMAT depends on its integrated planning, accounting, and finance system (FIPLAN) and in addition to a public debt management system that enables the state to access expense reports, verify payments and obtain statistics, government covenants, and account and fiscal data. For these reasons, it required operational continuity and information availability in contingency situations, in a stable IT infrastructure. To reach this goal, CEPROMAT implemented Oracle Database, Enterprise Edition 11g, stabilizing its IT environment, ensuring information security, and improving application availability. FIPLAN now has a security level of 95.2%, which is higher than the 70% security standard recommended to protect data and ensure it is provided only to authorized persons. Furthermore, the system allows Mato Grosso taxpayers to easily access information and retrieve documents, such as tax payment receipts online.

A word from Mato Grosso State Data Processing Center (CEPROMAT)

  • “As a company that provides high-tech services to the State of Mato Grosso, we are constantly seeking technological advances that improve the IT experience for our citizens. With that in mind, CEPROMAT selected Oracle to provide the infrastructure for the FIPLAN project, which today has nearly 5,000 registered users and serves 54 government agencies.” – Hildeberto Forte Daltro Filho, Operations Director, Centro de Processamento de Dados do Estado de Mato Grosso

Why Oracle

“We needed a robust and stable infrastructure that ensured continuity for our FIPLAN system, and Oracle helped us to achieve this goal. By implementing Oracle Real Application Clusters and upgrading to Oracle Database, Enterprise Edition 11g, we have ensured that our users have a high quality experience with enhanced availability and security,” said Hildeberto Forte Daltro Filho, operations director, Centro de Processamento de Dados do Estado de Mato Grosso.
