Merck implemented Taleo Recruiting as its staffing solution in the United States and globally to streamline candidate processing. Staffing managers needed to manage job requisitions and applicants through a centralized, online tool that enabled them to review status and process candidates efficiently within their staffing organization. The shift in tools presented training challenges that were solved by Taleo Proficiency (Oracle User Productivity Kit).
In 2008, Merck selected Taleo Proficiency (Oracle User Productivity Kit) as the training tool of choice to successfully roll out six separate training programs by Q3 2009—including Manager Training in English and French. Leveraging Taleo Proficiency’s (Oracle User Productivity Kit) powerful single-source/multi-deployment ability, Merck reused portions of the training for each new training program.
Merck recognized their needs for key baseline training for new and existing staffing to ensure they optimized the Taleo (Oracle University) products. In order to make sure the managers and staffing were taking full advantage of the efficiencies offered through Taleo (Oracle University), Merck needed to ensure that they were following consistent processes and were able to easily navigate through the system. Merck created precise process flows that were easily incorporated into Taleo Proficiency (Oracle User Productivity Kit). With ease of use for when business processes change, the staffing and hiring manager trainings can easily be updated to include the new information.
Taleo Proficiency (Oracle User Productivity Kit) provided Merck the solution it needed to offer a consistent quality experience to candidates, rapidly deploy corporate policies and procedures, and provide immediate access to employee training anywhere, anytime.
Some of the world’s largest global organizations actively use Taleo Proficiency (Oracle User Productivity Kit) to train their staff. With over 20 years of combined experience, the team has constructed a refined methodology on how to most effectively and efficiently create training by augmenting the industry standard model. Taleo Proficiency (Oracle User Productivity Kit) provides on demand click-through training that componentized key lessons from the traditional instructor-led classroom content. Using Taleo Proficiency (Oracle User Productivity Kit), topics or business procedures can now be reviewed in less than two minutes.
Merck implemented Taleo Proficiency (Oracle User Productivity Kit) for several reasons:
Merck sought to gain two things with the implementation of Taleo Proficiency (Oracle User Productivity Kit): enablement and adoption. Merck now has the ability to create additional training modules from this single source as needs change and as business processes evolve.
The team created training content that is very specific to the corporate culture at Merck. During the course of the initial six week content development cycle, the team created tailored eLearning for both staffing managers and hiring managers. Merck expertise was used every step of the way as they participated in requirements sessions and review cycles, solicited direct feedback on the business process, and presented the solutions to Merck project stakeholders.
With Taleo Proficiency (Oracle User Productivity Kit), training of hiring managers and staffing is also more consistent and repeatable. Traditional training paradigms, such as instructor-led classroom training, are as easily facilitated by Taleo Proficiency (Oracle User Productivity Kit) as are the eLearning modules to which many new users are now accustomed. The control Merck has over the content of the training and the methods of distribution widened the reach and facilitated greater adoption.
Merck now manages a multilingual deployment of learning content, including printed content and eLearning training. Finally, Merck provides easy access for staffing and managers to view the end-to-end position requisition management process in four modes of distribution—available 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
