Why Oracle

In 2006, the company adopted a document management solution focusing on engineering and project management. The solution automatically converted CAD documents and drawings into a PDF format for viewing. The quality of the PDF files was low, however, making documents hard to read and unusable for engineering work. Saipem decided to rethink its document visualization policy and implemented Oracle's AutoVue 3-D Professional Advanced. Today, it can effectively share and manage two-dimensional (2-D) and three-dimensional (3-D) documents CAD, as well as other documents with project managers, engineers, and other team members, improving capital project design and execution and overall productivity.

Implementation Process
