SITA implemented four SPARC T4-1 servers to ensure continued reliability and enhance performance for BagMessage, its global message distribution solution that 530 airlines use to communicate with automated baggage systems that route luggage from check-in to final destination and passenger collection. The company has doubled its system capacity, accommodated a 20%, year-on-year growth in message traffic in Europe, and built a scalable platform to support the continued expansion of BagMessage.

SITA operated BagMessage on Sun servers for more than 10 years and wanted to protect its investment in Oracle hardware while increasing performance and scalability to meet demand.
