Implementation Process

Tata Motors’ database upgrade project began in March 2006, and the company began moving its critical databases to the new Oracle Real Application Clusters environment in March 2008.

The project operated under three key phases. The first phase ensured that all databases were current. The second phase involved the database upgrades and the implementation of features, such as Oracle Automatic Storage Management. In the third phase, Tata Motors re-architected its infrastructure and hardware and implemented Oracle Real Application Clusters.

Oracle Advanced Customer Support Services provided architectural development, support, and advanced consulting throughout the implementation process, and continues to provide in-house support services to Tata Motors.
