  • Deployed Sun ZFS Storage 7420 appliance with 840 terabytes of raw capacity as the company’s primary Oracle Database, backup, and development environment enabling fast parallel backups with scalable, efficient network attached storage (NAS) without any modification to the company’s databases
  • Reduced, by tenfold, the time required to back up 60 terabytes of telecommunication data from Oracle Exadata, multirack environments—from 40 hours down to 4 to 5 hours—to ensure business continuity
  • Mitigated business risk by enabling the company to restore backup databases within a few hours
  • Gained the ability to deploy preproduction environments on Sun ZFS Storage Appliance in combination with real-time production data without interacting with the production database—which enabled the organization to develop new telecommunication products and services faster

Why Oracle

“Oracle did not compete with other vendors here. We knew beforehand that only Oracle technology could deliver the desired benefits, such as cutting storage space significantly with Hybrid Columnar Compression or running preproduction environments with live data. Implementation Process
