ValleyCrest Landscape Companies Manages More Than 1,000 Landscaping Projects by Integrating Contract Management and Financial Management Environments

Founded in 1949, ValleyCrest Landscape Companies is the nation’s largest integrated landscape services company, with more than 100 locations in the United States. The company is commissioned by architects, developers, commercial real estate owners, public agencies, property managers, and luxury home builders to create, build, and maintain some of the world’s most extraordinary natural environments. ValleyCrest operates eight business units that deliver a full array of landscape services to commercial and residential customers across the globe.

To properly manage more than 1,000 active projects in its Landscape Development and Residential business units, ValleyCrest needed a contract management module that could deliver comprehensive project visibility, scale to meet future growth, and integrate easily with a financial management system, so project managers could analyze budgetary numbers efficiently.
ValleyCrest worked with Oracle Partner Partners Consulting to implement Oracle’s Primavera Contract Management and integrate it with Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Financials. With the implementation, ValleyCrest integrated information and processes across the accounting and project management functions to provide managers with easy access to comprehensive project overviews.

Project managers can now effectively monitor commitments and accounts receivables, as well as produce up-to-date recovery rate and cost-to-complete reports from an easy-to-use interface. By providing these valuable reports to project managers, the company can work proactively to reduce project cost overruns and enhance operational efficiency. In addition, the company acquired the scalability and system flexibility needed to expand into new markets, such as the United Arab Emirates, China, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, and Hawaii.
