Solution: Zero Downtime Loading Capability
Q: Why is zero downtime loading capability innovative?
A: It's innovative because data is guaranteed, it offers better performance than single-node instance loads for a business intelligence data warehouse environment, and it is all automated. It also provides 100 percent uptime and 24 by 7 coverage.
Q: How do you define innovation?
A: Innovation is something new which has never been created before and provides benefits for untapped customers and existing customers. An innovative solution or product should create a new business space and also improve existing processes in a new way that results in terms of increased income and profits.
Q: What's the most innovative about the project you're working on now?
A: The most important innovation is that it uses an Oracle TAF+OBIEE connect time failover and NetApps Filer combination to provide high availability of the database, highly performing and guaranteed data in a business intelligence data warehouse environment without using Oracle RAC or any other special tools. It's also very simple to implement without compromising on security.
Q: What is the enemy of innovation?
A: Satisfaction with the status quo.
Q: Who would you say is the most innovative person at Oracle?
A: This is a tough question because there are many innovators at Oracle. However, I would say my project mentor, Madhur Saxena. All the projects he has worked on use different technologies, and he's encouraged collaboration with his work groups to synergize the gaps between technologies.
Q: What do you think of as the most innovative period in history?
A: The Roman Empire was the world's first and only superpower for centuries because of the Romans' ability to constantly innovate in areas of science, military and culture. Romans perfected the Republic, and the plumbing concepts we use today came from them. The Roman Empire died out when innovation was replaced with sycophancy and acceptance of the status quo.
Q: What's the most innovative product (not Oracle's) that you know of?
A: The TATA group is a great example of a company inventing what their customers really care about. Their product, NANO, is the world's cheapest car manufactured so far. It uses different raw materials than other car manufacturers to produce a car at such a low price, and this makes them very innovative.
