New Web Destination Aids Modernization Efforts in Social Services

Social services agencies now have a new resource to help them transition their IT systems from siloed, legacy applications to modern enterprisewide platforms.

Oracle’s recently launched Web page for social services applications offers regularly updated news, case histories, white papers, Webcast schedules, and technical information to assist agencies working to increase efficiency and improve services for constituents.

As part of their modernization push, social service agencies are moving to commercial off-the-shelf software to automate their programs and services, which in the current economic climate must serve larger numbers of citizens. Automation helps agencies manage and distribute services and benefits consistently while keeping administrative costs in check.

The new page describes Oracle’s lineup of applications that enable these automation efforts, and agency profiles show the solutions in action. For example, when Spain’s Institute for the Elderly and Social Services (IMSERSO) introduced a new system to care for elderly and disabled citizens, it needed an open IT system that would allow municipal and regional governments to work together. IMSERSO worked with Oracle Consulting and Accenture to implement a solution based on Oracle’s Siebel applications in six months. The application allowed IMSERSO’s 2,000 mobile evaluation agents to manage more than 380,000 cases in one year.

Visit the new page for more information about IMSERSO and other solutions.
