Oracle Linux 7.2 Released

Oracle Linux 7.2 is now generally available. Updates include the ability to install MySQL 5.6 Community Edition directly with the Anaconda installer or Kickstart, and the ability to configure kdump during non-graphical installations.

Independent Hardware Vendor Solutions:

  • HP: New Oracle Validated Configurations on Oracle Linux 7 and Oracle VM 3.3, have just been released. More details can be found in the blog.
  • Lenovo servers listed on the Oracle hardware certification lists (HCL) are all qualified to run Oracle Linux and Oracle VM. This blog from Lenovo lists the latest Oracle certified servers.

Cloud Solutions:

  • Hortonworks certifies its Cloudbreak Deployer on Oracle Linux 7.
  • Microsoft Azure added Oracle Linux 7 as one of the supported Linux on Azure-Endorsed Distributions.

Independent Software Vendor Solutions:

  • BMC has published an updated Compatibility matrix, stating support for Oracle Linux 7 for its BMC Patrol Agent.
  • Cloudera has updated its support matrix to reflect the support for Oracle Linux 7.1 for Cloudera Manager Version 5.
  • McAfee continues to support Oracle Linux, with its latest certification of McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for Linux (VSEL) 2.02 on Oracle Linux 7.1.
  • SEP, with its SEP sesam v4.4 Backup and Servers and Clients, continues to support Oracle Linux and Oracle VM.
