Choice Hotels International, Inc. is a hospitality holding corporation based in Rockville, Maryland. It is the second-largest hotel company in the world, with more than 6,200 properties worldwide. Choice Hotels wanted to introduce more self-service capabilities to its business users to create greater empowerment and flexibility, thus reducing the dependency on IT to introduce new features to its production systems. It also wanted to replace legacy systems and completely transform its distribution platform. Choice Hotels turned to many Oracle tools and technologies, including Oracle WebCenter Sites and Oracle WebCenter Portal to provide an intuitive interface for its end users and reduce time-to-market. TekStream Solutions is an Atlanta, Georgia-based technology solutions company that specializes in addressing enterprise IT problems. TekStream recently released Content Loader, an enhanced extension to Oracle WebCenter Content designed to process millions of documents at speeds in excess of 360,000 items per hour. Content Loader is a content migration and mapping tool designed to provide both import and export services with full audit logging of processes and event notifications. Content Loader can reduce overall migration costs by 50 percent when factoring in the reduction of resources and time to complete the migration process. The solution provides Oracle customers with the ability to move both content and metadata from older versions of Oracle WebCenter Content and other repositories to Oracle WebCenter Content 11g.
