In February 2010, ORACLE Racing brought the oldest trophy in international sport back to the United States with a triumphant victory at the 33rd America’s Cup in Valencia, Spain. Now it’s time to look forward, as the champion team prepares to defend its win at the 34th America’s Cup, to be held in San Francisco in 2013.
ORACLE Racing has worked to build a vibrant new era for this racing classic, with new race formats and revolutionary new boats: The AC72s, 72-foot wing-sailed catamarans that can move at speeds more often found on the highway than the high seas. Teams will learn the intricacies of sailing this groundbreaking vessel in the America’s Cup World Series, using a second, smaller class of wing-sailed catamarans called the AC45. The America's Cup World Series will visit venues around the world in 2011 and 2012, giving fans worldwide the opportunity to personally experience the thrill of America’s Cup racing.
