March 19, 2008
Oracle today announced that Oracle(r) Life Sciences applications received a "Positive" rating in Gartner's MarketScope for Life Science Clinical Study Automation and Management Applications, 2007.
The study analyzes the recent performance of clinical study automation and management application vendors that meet the inclusion criteria of at least $10 million annual sales revenue. "To control spiraling costs and comply with regulatory requirements, life science organizations need software applications that will help them automate and effectively manage the clinical phase from study set up through submission," said Neil de Crescenzo, Group Vice President, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Oracle. "Oracle offers an integrated suite of applications for clinical development, which provide a combination of broad coverage and deep functionality - offering unmatched benefits in clinical data and clinical trial management."
Oracle's suite of applications and infrastructure software for clinical development - which includes Oracle Clinical, Oracle Remote Data Capture (RDC), Oracle Adverse Event Reporting System (AERS), Oracle Thesaurus Management System, Siebel Clinical Trial Management System and Oracle Life Sciences Data Hub - provide a streamlined system for managing large volumes of patient data collected during clinical trials. Oracle's clinical applications offer features for modeling various clinical studies, automatically storing components for reuse in a flexible global library. They also provide powerful study layout and design features, comprehensive edit check facilities, sophisticated tracking, full analysis and reporting capabilities, as well as an integrated remote data collection facility for site-based entry. The first fully integrated suite of applications for clinical development, Oracle's clinical suite gives users the option to deploy applications individually or together, allowing for incremental growth for existing customers or a full eClinical suite for new customers.
