Oracle Marks Key Milestone with Siebel Certification Roadmap for Oracle® Fusion Middleware
Certifying Oracle's Siebel Applications with Oracle Fusion Middleware Enables Customers and Partners to Maximize the Value of their Enterprise Applications
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Collaborate 06 User Group Conference April 25, 2006 05:00 AM
To help ensure that organizations can extend the value of their current and future IT investments, Oracle today announced its roadmap for certifying Oracle's Siebel business application and analytic offerings with Oracle(r) Fusion Middleware. The announcement marks another key milestone in the delivery of the Oracle Fusion Architecture, following the certification of Oracle's PeopleSoft and JD Edwards applications with Oracle Fusion Middleware.
Certifying applications with Oracle Fusion Middleware enables customers to more easily integrate and support their entire mix of Oracle and non-Oracle enterprise applications, including SAP, while laying the groundwork for a service-oriented architecture (SOA) - key to the company's next generation application foundation. Following the completion of the Siebel acquisition in January 2006, Oracle initiated the process of certifying its Siebel applications with the company's open, comprehensive, standards-based family of middleware products. The certification will help customers protect their current investments while preparing them to upgrade to Oracle Fusion applications.
Oracle Fusion Middleware Delivers Business Value
Once certified, organizations with investments in Oracle's Siebel CRM and Oracle's Siebel Business Analytics applications can use Oracle Fusion Middleware to easily integrate with leading applications, including PeopleSoft, JD Edwards and Oracle E-Business Suite, among others. Using Oracle Fusion Middleware, customers can rapidly integrate Siebel CRM and Siebel Business Analytics applications with a wide variety of information sources and extend customer-centric processes across the enterprise and beyond (to partners), while enabling a reduction in IT costs and a decrease in compliance and security risks. Additionally, this improves the ability of organizations to adapt business processes and services to meet evolving customer requirements. By uniting Siebel applications with Oracle Fusion Middleware, organizations will be able to better view, target and service their customers.
Certification of Siebel 7.8 with Oracle Fusion Middleware will span a number of key middleware components including Oracle Containers for Java, Oracle Java Messaging Services, Oracle Portal, Oracle Enterprise Service Bus, Oracle BPEL Process Manager and Oracle Identity Management. The Siebel 7.8 certification is scheduled to be completed during the second half of calendar year 2006. Oracle Fusion Middleware's Business Analytics Technology is already certified to work with Siebel 7.8. Siebel 8.0 is expected to be certified for these and other technologies including Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle Secure Search. The certification of Siebel 8.0 with Oracle Fusion Middleware should be concurrent with the availability of Siebel 8.0.
"We're bringing together the industry's leading CRM and analytics applications with our leading middleware products, further helping customers to protect, extend and evolve their current and future technology investments," said Thomas Kurian, senior vice president of Fusion Middleware Development, Oracle. "With Oracle's middleware family of products, Siebel users can now benefit from a truly adaptable IT infrastructure based on open standards, giving them the ability to seamlessly integrate their customer-facing business processes with new or existing systems, protect their customer information, and make changes to those processes as their business evolves."
"One of our first priorities since the acquisition was to certify Siebel applications on Oracle Fusion Middleware so customers could quickly realize the business value of developing, deploying and managing SOAs," said Ed Abbo, senior vice president of CRM Product Development, Oracle. "This is a key step toward integrating Siebel's best-of-breed applications into Oracle's applications strategy."
Certifications to Benefit Partner Community
This certification benefits the entire spectrum of partners, including Systems Integrators, Independent Software Vendors, Value-added Resellers (VARs) and Value-added Distributors. Partners can rapidly develop strategic, repeatable solutions linking Siebel with other custom and packaged applications, helping to decrease the amount of time and money spent on development. Additionally, ISVs who certify their applications with Oracle Fusion Middleware will be poised to deliver pre-integrated points into Siebel solutions, helping to reduce the barriers to entry and cost for end-users.
