A Java-based Integrated Development Environment (IDE), Oracle JDeveloper 11g provides a unified design and development experience, featuring advanced tooling and visual development for all Java EE 5 standards and APIs; reusability features; Oracle Platform Security Services an integrated security services framework; and support for Java Persistence Architecture (JPA) development.
Today’s announcement supports Oracle’s strategy of delivering complete, integrated and end-to-end product suites on an open, standards-based middleware and database architecture. Oracle’s approach helps customers to simplify computing environments, lower cost and risk, and provides greater choice and flexibility.
Enhancing Productivity for Java Developers
Oracle JDeveloper 11g and Oracle ADF 11g provide:
Advanced tooling and a visual development environment that includes:
Adaptive rendering that targets applications for both desktop and mobile devices using pre-built rendering kits optimized for a given client technology.
Support for more than 150 AJAX-enabled, JSF 1.2-based rich client components, allowing visualization of tabular, cubic, XML and spatial data into multi-dimensional, interactive, portable user interfaces.
Tight integration to Oracle WebLogic Server; optimized debugging environment; and support for JAX-WS-compliant Web services.
Reusability features such as ADF Task Flows, JSF templating, simple component creation, and fully skinnable JSF components that help streamline the development process and boost productivity.
Oracle Platform Security Services framework integration, enabling non-security developers to easily incorporate security services such as authentication, authorization, audit, identity assertion, role mapping, single sign-on and many others into applications. The framework also provides user-friendly abstractions of critical security functions that are required to protect sensitive data.
Support for Java Persistence API (JPA) and object-xml development through Oracle TopLink’s advanced features.
Oracle Customer Services provides complete coverage of Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle ADF with the world's leading portfolio of IT lifecycle-based service and support offerings. Oracle Customer Services is focused on helping customers maximize their success with Oracle solutions while lowering the total cost of ownership through continued advances in providing personalized, proactive support and knowledge management capabilities.
“Developers are faced with a multitude of technologies and learning curves for building Web 2.0, Mobile and Rich Enterprise Applications, adding complexity and cost to the development process," said Ted Farrell, chief architect and senior vice president, Oracle. “Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle ADF address these complexities by abstracting developers from the underlying technologies, providing an immense productivity boost for standards based application development.”
