NRF 98th ANNUAL CONVENTION & EXPO, NEW YORK – January 12, 2009
As part of its ongoing commitment to deliver value to leading retail businesses and help offer them competitive advantage, Oracle plans to deliver end-to-end business process integration for customers using the Oracle® Retail Merchandising Suite and Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial applications.
The Oracle Retail Merchandising Integration Pack for PeopleSoft Enterprise Financials is intended to help retailers more effectively address key financial operation control processes for merchandising execution.
The integration pack is expected to deliver significant value to retailers by providing them with enhanced inventory valuation, more timely revenue recognition and streamlined merchandising procure to pay.
The Oracle Retail Merchandising Integration Pack for PeopleSoft Enterprise Financials is being built on Oracle’s Application Integration Architecture (AIA), a pre-built, open and complete architecture for orchestrating agile, user-centric business processes across enterprise applications.
By integrating the Oracle Retail Merchandising applications with PeopleSoft Enterprise Financials, Oracle expects to help retailers more effectively address critical visibility challenges facing merchandising and accounting managers today. This includes achieving synchronization among various operating groups, knowing when financial postings occur and ensuring that supplier payments take place.
The integration pack is also expected to help address retailers’ challenges around maintaining and extending integration environments between applications, often due to costly point-to-point integrations or the custom mapping of data attributes.
“The Oracle Retail Merchandising Integration Pack for PeopleSoft Enterprise Financials will offer our retail customers and partners new opportunities to maximize the value of their Oracle investments,” said Duncan Angove, General Manager and Senior Vice President, Oracle Retail. “The solution is designed to reduce complexity, making it easier for retailers to take advantage of opportunities for short-term value creation within their businesses while also helping to provide long-term competitive advantage.”
“The latest innovations provided through Oracle Application Integration Architecture enable retail companies, and the industry, to take major steps forward for ultimate configurability and choice,” said Oracle Vice President of Application Development and Product Strategy for AIA Jose Lazares. “By offering a complete integration solution for orchestrating agile, user-centric business processes across enterprise applications, Oracle provides retail companies with an effective way to gain business and IT efficiencies, while increasing their competitive edge.”
