Oracle Expands Presence in the Oil & Gas Industry

Key Energy and Petrofac among major new customers; Charles Phillips Appointed to The National Petroleum Council

Oracle is expanding its presence in the Oil and Gas industry with several new customers, over the past several quarters, that have chosen Oracle® Applications to manage their asset management, accounting, human capital management and planning and strategy functions.
Recent customers Key Energy Services and Petrofac join other Oracle customers who have expanded their Oracle footprint recently including BP, Helix, Anadarko, Remedial Offshore, NATCO, Chesapeake Energy, Noble Energy, Diamond Offshore, El Paso and Hercules Offshore.
Also announced today, Oracle President Charles Phillips, was recently appointed to The National Petroleum Council by the United States Secretary of Energy.

The National Petroleum Council Appointment

The National Petroleum Council is an oil and gas advisory committee to the Secretary of Energy. The council serves to represent the views of the oil and natural gas industries in advising, informing, and making recommendations to the Secretary with respect to matters relating to oil and natural gas.
In selecting membership for the Council, special attention is given to assure a well-balanced representation from all segments of the oil and gas industries, all sections of the country, and from large and small companies. Mr. Phillips’s appointment represents the views of companies that provide software and technology solutions to the industry.

In addition to the National Petroleum Council, Oracle participates and sits on the Board of PPDM, (Professional Petroleum Data Management Association) and collaborates with the SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) IT Technical Committee, PESA (Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association) and Texas A&M University’s Oil & Gas RFID Solution Group
