Zebra Technologies, a leading global provider of innovative and reliable specialty printing solutions, has initiated a multi-year business transformation initiative with Oracle® Application Integration Architecture (AIA) and Oracle Master Data Management to streamline integration and maximize IT agility.
With the help of Oracle AIA and Oracle Master Data Management, Zebra plans to replace all disparate systems and obsolete business processes with an all Oracle solution that will meet their global requirements.
Due to a number of acquisitions, Zebra’s IT group was left managing a large number of isolated and disconnected systems, resulting in unsatisfactory support for the current business and the company’s growth requirements.
Beginning in Europe last fall, Zebra’s first step was to consolidate its customer information into one source using Oracle Customer Hub from the Oracle Master Data Management Suite and to integrate this cleansed customer data with applications such as Oracle’s Siebel CRM and a number of legacy systems using Oracle AIA. As a result, Zebra was able to deploy in two months a highly controlled and consistent master data solution throughout its European operations. A similar implementation is scheduled to rollout to the U.S. this spring.
Zebra’s initial reliance on Oracle AIA resulted in a 60 percent time and cost savings, and higher data quality, enabling their master data management project to go live in 2 short months.
Together, Oracle AIA and Oracle Customer Hub gives Zebra a central, controlled platform for on-boarding future acquisitions enabling quicker, consistent absorption of new customer data. Additionally Zebra is benefiting from less business disruption throughout integration and migration efforts.
As a result of choosing Oracle AIA and Oracle Master Data Management, Zebra expects to lower IT costs and risks significantly not only during initial implementation but also over time as they upgrade and evolve their various systems. Oracle AIA has helped Zebra develop reusable integration solutions that can be easily extended to accommodate the growing needs of the business, should they choose to upgrade applications and harness new Oracle innovations.
Zebra currently has plans to replace 140 disconnected systems with Oracle Applications, including Oracle Financials, Oracle Procurement, Oracle Human Resources and Oracle CRM leveraging Oracle AIA and Oracle Master Data Management as a platform for its global and enterprise wide IT transformation program.
In eleven months, Zebra completed the first phase of their Oracle Applications implementation, which included Oracle Financials, Oracle Procurement, Oracle Human Resources, Siebel Universal Customer Master, Siebel Marketing, Siebel Partner Management.
