Oracle Education Foundation Partners with DKI Jakarta’s Education Office to Help Students Develop 21st Century Skills

500 Schools Gain Access to ThinkQuest Online Learning Platform

Jakarta, Indonesia – 31 March 2009

News Facts

Today, the Oracle Education Foundation (OEF) and DKI Jakarta’s Education Office signed a Memorandum of Understanding to roll out OEF’s ThinkQuest platform to government schools across the region.
ThinkQuest is a protected, online learning platform that enables teachers to integrate learning projects into their classroom curriculum and students to develop critical 21st century skills, including creativity, communication, teamwork, and technology skills.
ThinkQuest was first launched in Indonesia in 2006 and currently supports more than 13,375 students and teachers in 690 schools.
Building on this success, OEF will now partner with DKI Jakarta’s Education Office to implement ThinkQuest in an additional 500 schools, reaching 50,000 students and teachers over the next two years.
Over time, OEF aims to make ThinkQuest available to all 5,000 schools registered with DKI Jakarta’s Education Office.
Currently, over 220,000 students and teachers in 3,400 institutions across the Asia Pacific region benefit from their participation in ThinkQuest.
