Vodafone Qatar Deploys Oracle for Rapid Launch of Quadruple-Play Strategy
New Mobile Operator Launches Operations in Just Six Months
TM FORUM MANAGEMENT WORLD – Nice, France – May 6, 2009
Vodafone Qatar selected Oracle as its strategic partner for the initial launch of Qatar’s newest communications company, to deliver full quadruple-play (wireless, fixed-line, television and broadband) services by the end of 2009.
Delivered within just six months, the pre-integrated, network-ready Oracle solution is positioned to help Vodafone Qatar quickly capitalize on Qatar’s highly lucrative and newly-deregulated communications market.
The Oracle Communications solution enables Vodafone Qatar to quickly respond to customer preferences and market conditions, and to launch innovative new tariffs, promotions and bundles in a matter of days. The solution allows Vodafone Qatar to differentiate through a convergent strategy, offering products independent of payment method and service type, including third party content.
When introducing new customer-centric, IP-based services, Vodafone Qatar will benefit from greater control, operational efficiency and reduced costs, as all network-related changes are automated and orchestrated across all systems, applications and processes.
In a rapidly growing Middle East wireless market, the scalability and performance of the Oracle Communications solution helps ensure that Vodafone Qatar has the platform in place to manage growing subscriber numbers while delivering a superior customer experience.
Through real-time access to data, regardless of the source, customer service representatives have the information required to deliver a consistent and superior customer service experience, and the customer insight they need to suggest personalized cross-sell and up-sell offers.
EDS, a member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork, helped implement the Oracle Communications solution with Oracle Consulting.
“Within six months, Vodafone Qatar has launched one of the world’s most innovative platforms for acquiring and serving millions of subscribers. With this infrastructure in place, the company is in the position to launch highly lucrative, next-generation services in a matter of days,” said Tim Porter, vice president of sales, EMEA, Oracle Communications.
“Our vision is to become the most loved, number one brand in Qatar within three years. To support this vision, we need to remain innovative and competitive, and offer unrivalled customer service. In such a competitive industry, these challenges are made even more difficult, but thanks to Oracle and EDS, we have within only six months implemented a flexible, scalable systems infrastructure that lets us rapidly launch innovative mobile services and delight our customers,” said Adrian Dilworth, chief information officer, Vodafone Qatar.
