Oracle Announces Oracle Media Intellectual Property Management
Comprehensive Solution for Media and Entertainment Companies to be Shown at Oracle OpenWorld
Redwood Shores, CA – October 12, 2009
Oracle announced the immediate availability of Oracle® Media Intellectual Property Management.
This new software, acquired from Sophoi, Inc., is the only comprehensive software solution built specifically to manage intellectual property (IP) and the content value chain for media and entertainment companies.
Oracle Media Intellectual Property Management automates IP rights and royalty management, and sales and distribution across content owners, aggregators and service providers to reduce revenue leakage and develop new revenue models.
Oracle’s full solution for media and entertainment companies enables better management of IP development and acquisition, sales and licensing, and royalties and accounting.
Oracle will highlight Oracle Media Intellectual Property Management at a session entitled: Intellectual Property Rights and Royalties Management for Media and Entertainment at Oracle OpenWorld on Monday, October 12 from 2:30-3:30pm at the San Francisco Palace Hotel. A demonstration of the solution will be available at the Oracle Communications Industry Pavillion.
“With the proliferation of media and entertainment distribution channels, the management and licensing of intellectual property rights and royalties has become increasingly complex,” said Liam Maxwell, Vice President of Products, Oracle Communications. “The addition of Sophoi technology to Oracle’s product line for the communications, media and entertainment industries is expected to accelerate the adoption of standards-based software to monetize digital content and enable better financial control of content assets.”
“Oracle Media Intellectual Property Management will allow us to streamline the management and licensing of our product. The software will improve our ability to identify and organize television rights, locate and license those rights to our assets, and track complex licensing agreements, while more easily managing the revenue cycle and the associated accounting” said Abe Wong, CIO, Paramount Pictures. “This dynamic and automated solution ensures that we can maximize revenue potential of our IP assets and reduce the costs of supporting our business.”
