Oracle® Fusion Middleware 11g Delivers Exceptional Performance and High-End Scalability with First-Ever Large Scale System Deployment Benchmark on a HP ProLiant BL680c Server Blades
Results Based on Real-World Topology; Helps Customers Size Enterprise Deployments
Oracle OpenWorld, San Francisco, Calif. – October 12, 2009
Components of Oracle® Fusion Middleware 11g delivered groundbreaking performance and scalability results in tests using realistic customer-focused scenarios on a complex and highly available Large Scale System Deployment (LSSD) topology.
Oracle’s LSSD is a suite of Performance, Scalability, and Reliability (PSR) tests simulating real-world, multi-user workloads.
Running on nine HP ProLiant BL680c server blades with Intel® Dunnington E7450 four socket, six core 2.4 GHz processors and 32 GB RAM networked together by HP Virtual Connect and utilizing an HP StorageWorks EV8100 disk array, Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1 components achieved the following results:
Oracle SOA Suite: 5,040,000 Orders and 88,560,000 Integration Objects Processed / Day;
Additionally, the benchmarked configuration demonstrated sustainable throughput and performance for the entire duration of an 8-hour business day with optimal hardware utilization.
This LSSD benchmark is based on a fully integrated Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1 stack and demonstrates the open, standards-based and complete end-to-end solution needed for enterprise level deployments.
Customers with comparable workloads can use these results to help them size similar deployments.
“The latest release of Oracle Fusion Middleware is quickly proving to be the industry leader in reliability, scalability and performance,” said Vikram Kumar, Vice President, Fusion Middleware Development, Oracle. “The LSSD benchmark results further demonstrate that customers can reliably scale to extreme levels with excellent performance with the combination of Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g on one of HP’s most popular servers. These results exceeded our expectations both in terms of throughput and the efficient use of hardware resources.”
“Enterprise customers are looking for a proven infrastructure foundation to meet the performance requirements of demanding workloads,” said Gary Thome, chief architect, Infrastructure Software and Blades, HP. “The benchmark results demonstrate the industry-leading capability of an HP server blade-based platform with Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g to reliably manage complex and highly available large-scale deployments.”
