This workers’ compensation implementation serves as the pilot for Farmers’ enterprise-wide, multi-line Claims Redesign of its current claims system to a new, Siebel Claims-based solution from Oracle, scheduled for deployment in late 2010.
After completing the roll out of the enterprise-wide Claims Redesign, Farmers expects to have 12,000-plus users live on Siebel Claims Version 8.0.
The National Workers’ Compensation System (NWCS) is a Web-based solution replacing an aging legacy system. NWCS helps Farmers to elevate customer service and satisfaction, improve productivity and operational efficiencies and reduce total cost of ownership through use of the easy to deploy and easy to maintain application.
The business solution helps Farmers rapidly identify and resolve severe claims, and reduces loss costs and loss adjustment expenses.
The solution moves Farmers from paper-based files to straight-through processing that takes advantage of electronic bill review and online file storage.
Oracle’s Siebel Claims provides Farmers with a configurable solution that enables the Workers’ Compensation line of business to easily configure the system – without hard coding – to fit its business processes, while automating previously manual tasks to improve the efficiency of back-office operations.
“The National Workers’ Compensation System (NWCS) and the Multi-line Property and Casualty (P&C) Claims Redesign initiatives are cornerstones of Farmers’ claims roadmap. Enhanced, more personalized customer experience, greater employee productivity and new levels of process excellence are key business drivers to better serve our customers and leapfrog our competition in today’s dynamic market,” said Shohreh Abedi, Vice President of Claims Applications, Farmers Insurance Group, Inc.
“Our new National Workers’ Compensation Claims System (NWCS) will be instrumental in improving the efficiencies of our employees, enhancing the experience of our customers and elevating our claims handling to new levels. This is another step in making Farmers the insurer of choice in our workers’ compensation markets,” said Dirk Bumann, Director of Farmers Workers’ Compensation Claims, Farmers Insurance Group, Inc.
“Leveraging Oracle’s product suite, experienced systems integrators like Oracle Certified Advantage Partner Capgemini and forward-thinking insurers like Farmers can take advantage of Oracle’s Siebel Claims Version 8.0 to implement flexible, rules-based, end-to-end claims processing solutions that streamline claims handling, reduce operational costs and further extend business visibility into the entire claims lifecycle,” said Rick Connors, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Oracle Insurance.
