Oracle Named a Leader in Enterprise Business Intelligence Platforms by Independent Research Firm
Redwood Shores, Calif. - October 28, 2010
According to a new October 2010 report from independent analyst firm Forrester Research, Inc., Oracle is a leader in enterprise business intelligence (BI) platforms.
Forrester Research defines BI as a set of methodologies, processes, architectures, and technologies that transform raw data into meaningful and useful information used to enable more effective strategic, tactical, and operational insights and decision-making.
Written by vice president, principal analyst Boris Evelson, “The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Business Intelligence Platforms, Q4 2010,” states that “Oracle has built new metadata-level OBIEE 11g integration with Fusion Middleware and Fusion Apps and continues to differentiate with its versatile ROLAP engine.”
The report also states: “And in addition to closing some gaps it had in 10.x versions such as lack of RIA functionality, 11g release actually leapfrogs the competition with the Common Enterprise Information Model (CEIM) — including the ability to define actions and execute processes right from BI metadata across BI and ERP applications.”
Complete, Integrated and Scalable Suite of BI Products
Oracle Business Intelligence 11g was released in August 2010.
“We’re pleased that Forrester’s Wave recognizes Oracle Business Intelligence as a leading enterprise BI platform,” said Paul Rodwick, vice president of product management, Oracle Business Intelligence. “In Oracle Business Intelligence 11g, we’ve delivered the most complete, integrated and scalable suite of BI products. Innovative unification of relational OLAP and multi-dimensional OLAP functionality, enriched visualization, extreme scalability and performance, and the industry’s first integrated capability to initiate business-improving actions directly from BI insights combine to provide customers with the ultimate enterprise BI solution.”
