Deli XL Implements Oracle ATG Web Commerce to Grow Online Initiatives and Enhance the Customer Experience
Netherlands Foodservice Provider Extends Ecommerce Capabilities to Optimize Revenue and Customer Satisfaction
Redwood Shores, Calif. – Sept. 27, 2012
Deli XL, a leading wholesale provider to the Dutch foodservice market is using Oracle ATG Web Commerce applications, a component of Oracle Commerce, to underpin the online food experience it provides to 30,000 customers and help increase revenue through cross-sell and conversion initiatives.
Through a customer base that includes hotels, restaurants, company catering facilities, educational establishments and hospitals, Deli XL handles the majority of its 750,000 order lines each week through its online channel.
To provide a superior ecommerce experience and to extend its value-add services around food inspiration, advice and education, Deli XL identified Oracle ATG Web Commerce as the platform for managing its cross-channel operations.
Deli XL selected Oracle ATG Web Commerce, Oracle ATG Web Commerce Merchandising and Oracle Web Commerce Service Center over competitive solutions from hybris and IBM, based on the platform’s scalability, provision of consistent and accurate information and strong functionality, including its extensive self-service capabilities.
The implementation is helping Deli XL to engage more effectively with new and existing customers through personalized recommendations, targeted promotions and relevant search.
By optimizing customer interactions, Deli XL seeks to drive more business online and to see increased cross-sell and conversion opportunities, leading to further online initiatives and improvements in the company’s supplier propositions.
Deli XL implemented Oracle ATG Web Commerce in ten months to launch a Pilot in March 2012. All of its 30,000 customers are expected to be using the platform by the end of 2012.
“We aim to offer the best online foodservice experience and our new Oracle ATG Web Commerce environment provides us with numerous new ways to interact with our customers and suppliers online,” said Rene Van Gelderen, Director IT & program management, Deli XL.
“To achieve profitable growth in retail, organizations need to provide exciting, relevant and timely customer interactions,” said Mike Webster, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Retail. “Deli XL has chosen to leverage Oracle ATG Web Commerce to extend its ecommerce offering and deliver engaging and targeted experiences.”
Deli XL is one of the largest full-service foodservice distributors in the Netherlands. We provide our customers in hotels, restaurants, catering, and the institutional market with reliable deliveries, a complete assortment and additional services.
