Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Introduces New Tools and Programs for Partners
Oracle Continues to Unlock New Innovations in Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Helping Partners Accelerate the Transition to Private and Public Clouds
ORACLE OPENWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO – October 2, 2012
To support its growing partner ecosystem, Oracle today announced enhanced tools and programs for Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c, including a new Enterprise Manager Extensibility Exchange, updated Oracle PartnerNetwork Enterprise Manager Knowledge Zone, and additional Enterprise Manager Extensibility Kit resources, enabling management of all software and hardware assets from a “single pane of glass,” to help partners accelerate their transformation to the public and private cloud.
The new Enterprise Manager Extensibility Exchange provides a “one-stop shop” of resources for partners to submit their own extensions for Oracle Enterprise Manager, including management plug-ins, management connectors, deployment procedures, data masking templates and more.
Extending Oracle Enterprise Manager’s heterogeneous management ecosystem, a number of Oracle integration partners have created new plug-ins that will be showcased at Oracle OpenWorld 2012, including those from Blue Medora, Emerson/Avocent and NetApp.
Since last year’s launch, more than 270 partners have achieved an Oracle Enterprise Manager Specialized status, demonstrating their expertise and added value they bring to the ecosystem.
A recent study by Crimson Consulting Group demonstrated that partners and customers can provision private cloud services up to 10 times faster with Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c while increasing productivity 10 to 20 percent for a typical cloud rollout team.(1)

"The heterogeneous management capabilities of Oracle Enterprise Manager are game changing for customers that want to manage their non-Oracle IT assets via a single pane-of-glass, from the traditional datacenter to the cloud," said Nathan Owen, CEO of Blue Medora, an Oracle Gold Partner. "Blue Medora’s family of plugins, all are powered by the Enterprise Manager Extensibility Development Kit (EDK) and made accessible by Oracle via the Enterprise Manager Extensions Exchange. We couldn’t be more pleased with Oracle’s commitment to providing heterogeneous management to customers when they need it."
"Power and cooling usage are major considerations affecting data centers today," said Baz Khuti, CTO, Avocent, Emerson Network Power. "The research work being done on the upcoming Emerson Network Power's Trellis DCIM platform (data center infrastructure management) plug-in for Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c is intended to provide customers with in-context understanding of the implication of software workloads on power utilization, which should help customers make more informed decisions that can optimize their data center operations."
“NetApp and Oracle continue to work closely to help ensure our mutual customers benefit from well-integrated solutions. NetApp’s recent achievement of an OracleValidated Integration of the NetApp Storage System Plug-in Version 1.0 with Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c, is a perfect example of this collaboration. Extending the application-to-disk coverage of Oracle Enterprise Manager environments to include managed NetApp Storage will deliver comprehensive availability, performance and configuration information for NetApp Storage Controllers and enable customers to more effectively manage their enterprise cloud environments,” said Brendon Howe, vice president, product and solutions marketing, NetApp.
