ONVZ Selects Oracle Health Insurance to Improve Flexibility in Defining Health Plans in the Dutch Marketplace

Insurer Chooses Software-as-a-Service Solution for Faster Time-to-Market at Lower Costs

ONVZ – an independent health insurance specialist that provides healthcare, prevention, absenteeism and income insurance for more than 400,000 people in the Netherlands – selected Oracle Health Insurance Back Office as the IT backbone to support its core business processes, such as health plan development, policy administration, provider contracts and claims processing.
ONVZ is working with Truston, a Gold member within the Oracle Partner Network (OPN), on the implementation. The partner will also manage the solution in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) environment once it is deployed.
Known for providing a personalized approach for all members, ONVZ is replacing a bespoke back-office system with Oracle Health Insurance Back Office to help it meet current and future healthcare market demands, such as further changes to financing structures like DOT. With this ONVZ expect to maintain its personal touch and excellent service in the future. In addition, the new system enables ONVZ to develop new products for the Dutch market.
The company will also use Oracle Health Insurance Back Office – which it will link to its Web site and front office operations – to simplify its core applications environment. This will ultimately enable ONVZ to ensure flexibility in defining health plans and reduce its IT maintenance burden, as well as its total cost of ownership.
With integrated front- and back-office systems, ONVZ also looks to improve customer service by providing call center representatives with a 360-degree customer view.
In the Netherlands, a large portion of the Dutch population’s health plans are processed via Oracle Health Insurance applications.
