LCS Upgrades to Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 and Extends its Footprint To Help Optimize Financial and HR Management
New Functionality Helps Senior Living Management Company Streamline, Automate and Standardize Business Processes
Redwood Shores, Calif. – September 19, 2013
To deliver the best possible experience across both assisted and independent living services, senior lifestyle communities need to carefully manage data that ranges from patient demographics and clinical details to financial and reimbursement records. Faced with this challenge, LCS, a leading provider of senior lifestyle services, upgraded to Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1. With help from its integrated suite of modern business applications, LCS has been able to drive efficiencies, streamline processes and maintain its commitment to providing an exceptional community where residents can enjoy life to the fullest.
Once on the latest release of the product, LCS added new functionality including Oracle SubLedger Accounting, Oracle iExpenses, Oracle Compensation Workbench and Oracle Self-Service Human Resources to meet the needs of its growing organization.
With more than 20,000 people employed across more than 80 LCS owned and managed communities in North America, LCS needed a comprehensive and integrated suite of modern applications that could help drive efficiencies by enhancing and standardizing business processes.
Completed on time and on budget, LCS has been able to minimize system customizations and simplify application maintenance by upgrading to Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.
Contributing to LCS’s successful deployment was the fact that it hired an experienced project manager who could guide the in-house implementation team on the typical steps that needed to take place, such as test and retest, for a smooth go-live. They also created an extensive amount of training.
Oracle Subledger Accounting, a rules-based engine for generating accounting entries based on source transactions, has enabled LCS to bundle some of the requests that used to run as separate processes.
Oracle Projects has helped further improve business visibility by providing a single, accurate view of all activities that helps LCS to correctly assign resources, ensure costs stay within budget, and track profitability via accurate budgeting, forecasting, and billings/chargebacks.
“Our IT infrastructure plays an important role in our commitment to providing an exceptional community where residents can enjoy life to the fullest,” said Marc Gaber, CIO, at LCS. “With Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1, there were very few issues with the upgrade and after we went live it was business as usual. Since the upgrade, we have been able to improve our business processes by expanding our footprint to gain a clearer and more comprehensive view into our financial and human resources information. As a result we have improved decision making, reduced costs and achieved new levels of efficiency across our business.”
