Oracle Simplifies Enterprise Mobile Application Development with Mobile Platform in the Cloud
Oracle Mobile Platform Enables Enterprises to Rapidly Build and Secure Any Application for Any Device to Any Data Source
ORACLE OPENWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO – September 24, 2013
As business demands have increased and the workforce has become more mobile, the need for enterprises to ensure users are connected via any device to their enterprise applications, at any time has become more critical. Oracle’s Mobile Platform addresses this challenge by simplifying application development and allowing developers to securely create and deliver more compelling user experiences. By simplifying this process, enterprises can maximize IT investments and lower application development costs.
Oracle today announced Oracle Mobile Cloud Service that enables developers and IT to create and manage mobile friendly APIs making it very easy for mobile developers to integrate their applications with enterprise data and services.
Part of Oracle Cloud, the Oracle Mobile Cloud Service leverages Oracle’s Mobile Platform that simplifies enterprise mobility by allowing organizations to easily build, securely extend any application to any device, and connect to any data source whether it’s custom, a packaged application or a cloud service.
The Oracle Mobile Platform is built for reliability, manageability and scalability across both large and small-scale enterprises. Extending Oracle Identity Management to mobile, enterprises can bridge the security gap between the enterprise and mobile devices by focusing on securing, controlling and managing the apps that run on these devices through a secure mobile app container to isolate corporate access and data from employee’s personal apps on popular mobile devices without compromising the rich user experience.
Oracle ADF Mobile enables enterprises to rapidly and visually develop single-source applications that leverage Java and HTML5 to deploy and run on both the Apple iOS and Google Android, thus enabling a single application on multiple devices and channels.
Enterprises can rapidly incorporate all types of enterprise data - legacy, web services and applications, both on-premises and on the cloud - into mobile applications with Oracle SOA Suite supporting REST and JSON, built-in Coherence caching to reduce latency and cloud adapters to rapidly connect to leading SaaS applications.
Organizations can securely and rapidly adopt Cloud, Mobile and SOA Services with Oracle API Gateway by bridging the gaps to secure and manage the interactions between all relevant systems in a standards-based, policy-driven security solution.
With Oracle Identify Management, enterprises can enable seamless single sign-on to any application from any device, accelerated application lifecycle and simplified evolution of fine-grained security policies for mobile.
By standardizing the user experience with common business logic, enterprises can maximize IT investments, lower costs and enable IT to build once and deploy-to-any platform.
Enterprise-Grade Security, Scalability, Reliability and Availability
Oracle Mobile Cloud Service reduces the complexities and cost of application development by ensuring secure connections to back-end enterprise systems, providing ready to integrate mobile specific features such as sync, notification services and security integration.
Through enterprise investment in business process orchestration and service integration delivered by Oracle Fusion Middleware, enterprises can extend data and services to mobile developers through mobile-aware RESTful APIs via Oracle’s cloud enabled Mobile platform.
Integrated with Oracle Identity Management, enterprises are assured that users who access applications and data from their mobile devices are authenticated through the enterprise security infrastructure and comply with IT policies and rules.
“Mobile developers typically have limited experience with effectively integrating their mobile application to enterprise data” said Chris Tonas, vice president, Application Development Tools, Oracle. “Oracle Mobile Cloud Service significantly reduces the complexity of creating back-ends by separating the client side UI from the back end content and service side logic application empowering developers, IT and businesses to focus on creating engaging mobile apps for the enterprise.”
“The ‘new normal’ for enterprises is about having connected services and devices available to us all day, every day,” said Suhas Uliyar, vice president, product management, Oracle. “By utilizing Oracle Mobile Platform built on the industry’s leading middleware platform, enterprises can create and execute on an enterprise wide mobile strategy today in compliance with their existing IT infrastructure investments for integration, business process orchestration and security policies instead of tactical mobile projects or siloed mobile platform implementations.”
